When will Chapter {Insert #} of {Insert Manga Series Title} come out?
Sorry, but we don't have a set schedule for our releases.
Feel free to throw eggs at us ONLY when there's no release for that particular series after 3 months.
Any policy regarding Re-translation?
You don't even have to email Jae for this. You can directly leech and use our scans. HOWEVER, since you're using our scans as raw source, please credit "Fried Squid Scans" as the "Raw Source" somewhere in the credits page.
***We will NOT provide any cleans****
What happens if we don't credit?
Middle-finger.
Why is Photoshop a must when applying for a typesetter/cleaner position?
Do you prefer crap quality scans and slow releases? That's the mean way of putting it, but using photoshop helps with quality-checking as a means to fix mistakes quicker and easier... unless you are absolutely perfect with your skill.
There's a typo/grammar issue in Page X Panel X Chapter X of X!!!!! That's so unprofessional of you guys. Can you fix it?!
Of course we can, but we aren't going to. Keep in mind that all releases are volunteer work, done out of fandom. Typos and grammar issues can be accidentally overlooked when a chapter is being quality-checked. It's all good as long as you get the gist of the dialogue. No need to point the issues out if there are only a few. In fact, let the typo/grammar issues remind us that SCANLATIONS AREN'T OFFICIAL. THEREFORE, YOU SHOULD SUPPORT THE MANGAKA BY BUYING A COPY.
Who handles the applications? Do you reject applicants?
Generally Jae does (the very person who is typing this answer). Yes, I do reject applications. I usually point out the flaws to provide the rejected applicant a means to improve if he/she wishes to do so. I do give second-trys if applicant is persistent. Sometimes, if the applicant's test makes me hesitate to either reject or accept, I would have another staff give his/her opinion. I ALWAYS REPLY APPLICATIONS (if you don't receive a reply after a week, email me again. I may have overlooked.)
